Lets help more underemployed workers from both communities (GCt & TC) find freelance income and help more employers from both side to find specialized knowledge workers on a flexible basis.

Mission Statement

An online platform [aka Software as a service (SaaS)]

1st Goal: to offer profitable services that leverage newly developed Internet services to create better labor markets for part-time, virtual and specialized workers.

2nd Goal: to help more underemployed workers find freelance income and help more employers to find specialized knowledge workers on a flexible basis

3rd Goal: to offer its services on a global basis, but it will begin by trying to help disadvantaged workers and employers in Cyprus.

Methodology:

1st goals will help small organizations (as small as a single consultant or expert) to build virtual teams that can help them take on larger engagements.

2nd goal will work with local communities to assemble freelance labor into 'virtual companies' that can offer branded services to targeted parts of the global market.

The platform's marketing and operations will be virtual and 'cloud-based'. It will leverage inexpensive, sophisticated Internet services to execute virtually all aspects of its business. It will obtain the vast majority of its labor from Cyprus markets (universities, new graduates, specialized knowledge workers e.g Python programmers, Animation, Robotics etc) that it is helping to build and serve. Together, these techniques will drastically minimize the platofrm's overhead and allow it to be extremely agile and pro-active.

The platform will market its services using Internet technologies, with a heavy emphasis on social media, and with expert labor that it contracts in the market. When the first phase is successful, then it will move to the second phase and the 3rd goal. Here, it will build on its experience to develop a suite of new operational and labor management software. This new level of software will allow  us to confidently offer its services to larger clients, for bigger projects and more critical deliverables, even abroad.

This business plan defines an entirely new type of labor service business in the island that resides on top of a new and fast-growing global market for service labor. The market that the platform will build on is so new that reviewers and writers are still inventing labels to describe it. It has been called the 'elancing' market, the 'electronic services market', the 'online talent market', among others.

Total 'elancing' turnover is a bit more than $1 Billion per year worldwide. It is still tiny compared to the overall market for services, (at least $4 Trillion annually in international trade and more than $10 Trillion per year if domestic services are included), but this elancing is growing quickly. Several large sites report compound annual growth rates in excess of 100%. That growth should accelerate as more buyers and providers discover the power and value of the elancing services.

All of these observations are factored into platform's strategy for recruiting and managing talent from the elancing community. We need to reach out (as an adjunct to its client marketing efforts) to educate individual Cypriots about the income potential of elancing work. The goal is to convince qualified providers to enroll and solicit work. Where possible, we will give hiring preference as well to well skilled Non-Cypriot providers for support and as leaders of the team. For client projects, this preference will be subordinate to ours primary obligation to supply the highest value team to the client.
