A driver assistant app that will enable real time reporting of traffic violations through voice commands. The violation reports would be automatically delivered on the police mailbox.

Traffety

Fatal car accidents in Cyprus have increased dramatically the last decade, with the human factor being the main in most of the cases. Recent data from Cyprus Police reveals that 49 people have died in 2018 in a car accident, while the first half of 2019 counts 19 deaths. These simple but crucial numbers reveal that normal speed and traffic controls by police are not enough to protect innocent drivers and pedestrians that uses the Cyprus traffic system. Our Traffety app, would give the ability in every user of the road system to report traffic violations that may face while driving or walking on the Cyprus roads. Among others, traffic violations categories would include red traffic light violation, frivolous and dangerous driving and driving without a helmet. The reporting would be made through simple voice commands, which would be automatically delivered on Cyprus police offices for further investigation. Through data analysis, our system would be able to identify those drivers that are frequently reported, establishing their way to justice. Even if we are not able to eliminate traffic accidents completely, the usage of technology may be useful in changing Cypriots driving culture while reducing the number of accidents that occurs every year.

Why our App is called Traffety?

Traffety comes from the words traffic + safety and has been chosen to represent our main aim, the safety of everyone that uses Cyprus road system. If you believe that you have a more appropriate name for our app, feel free to send us a message! Your contribution in our fight towards a better traffic culture is always welcome!
