Introduction of compulsory gender education curriculum in universities to enable university students understand the importance of gender equality as a social issue.

Educational institutions are influential places where dynamic social change can be effectively achieved. They are a place where students transform, grow and understand various important issues. Therefore, it is imperative that we include issues that focus on values of liberty and equality such as gender equality. Social issues that affect us are as important as other courses that university institutions teach. We encounter gender issues in every aspect of our daily life from the roles and behaviours we are expected to play, legislation and even how much we should earn. Gender studies help provide an understanding of these norms that produce inequality between men and women and how to resist them. An incorporation of compulsory gender courses in universities and other educational institutions will undoubtedly bring as a step closer to achieving gender equality.
